Course Out Line:
This short course aims to provide fundamental concepts of GNSS to the participants. It is designed to give a clear explanation of satellite constellations used for Data collection and Processing, Coordinate Systems, navigation, signal structures, system errors, and different types of augmentations and limitations of satellite systems.
Introduction to GNSS and Type of Receivers: Concept of GNSS, Type of GNSS Receivers & Handheld GPS & Software related to Handheld GPS such as OziExplorer, Basecamp & QGIS
Coordinate System & Parameters: Introduction to different terms such as Geoid, Ellipsoid, Datum, Map Projection (Transverse Mercator) & SLD99 Parameters
System Architecture of GNSS: Space, Control, User, Signals, Accuracy & Errors
Measurement & Positioning Types of positioning – RTK, Static, Satellite based augmentation System & Dilution of precision
Application of GNSS: Determining a Location, Navigation, Tracking, Mapping & Timing
